The Humani Clinic offers cortisone injections in addition to viscosupplementation injections with hyaluronate preparations such as Synvisc. Please note that we do not offer injections using imagery such as ultrasound. The medications used for infiltration are charged to the patient and are charged separately from the medical act of injecting. Synvisc is a hyaluronate preparation that is injected into knees with (osteo-) arthritis. It acts as both a lubricant and a shock absorber. This liquid orthotic can reduce arthritis related pain for up to one year. It represents an interesting option for patients who cannot take cortisone injections.
